Just Kidding.

The second one will be or CD release show for our self titled debut! It will be at The Emmet Ray (924 College St) on St. Patricks Day, March 17th! Our music isn’t very Irish, but there is a nice whiskey selection, so that will help. Festivities will start around 9pm. No cover, but tip jar will be passed around. CDs are $5. Once again, a sample of this record can be heard on our music page, or you can visit our myspace page to hear more!

New monthly residency gig and upcoming release!!

Hi everyone! We’d like to thank those who came out to The Cloak And Dagger on October 28th, it was a really fun gig and it was great to see so many familiar faces. Thanks to you, the Cloak and Dagger has been nice enough to give us a monthly gig there on the last Thursday of each month! We will be skipping December due to the holiday rush, but there are shows scheduled for November and January. Check our shows page or the side widget for more details.

On related news, our EP is mixed and just waiting to be mastered. It will simply be titled “Half Beat Mishap” and will consist of 4 songs contributed by each member of the band. It’s an eclectic mix of songs that represent the creative quirk of Half Beat Mishap well. We would like to thank Reuben Ghose for doing a beautiful job of recording or EP, it sounds amazing and will impress you all. More information will be available once we’ve pressed the discs, but it should be relatively soon. Cheers!

Hi everyone

Just letting you about a show we have coming up next week. We will be playing at The Cloak And Dagger (394 College St) on Thursday October 28th at 9pm. It will give you a chance to hear a bunch of new material, including some music from an upcoming EP that we recently recorded. The EP is now in the mixing stages and will hopefully be ready by the end of the year. More information on that coming soon!

New show and upcoming recording session

Hi everyone,

We’ll be invading St. Catherines for the first time on Saturday July 31st at The City Lights Bar (67 St. Paul St.). Opening the night will be local madman Camden Blues. Best thing of all, NO COVER! If you live in the Niagra region (or feel like a bit of a road trip!) please stop on by, it should be a good time!

The day after we will be doing a day long session at the Gas Station Recording Studio on Toronto Island. What will become of this, we don’t know as of yet, but you’ll probably get to hear it when it’s done!

Back to Life

Hey everyone. After a long time with no update I am pleased to add a show to our schedule! We will be playing at The Emmet Ray on Saturday May 8th from 7 to 10. The Emmet Ray is a beautiful new venue looking to cater to quality jazz music, so please come out and support us and this new place. More shows should be posted in the near future, so please keep looking back for more updates. Cheers! – Ken

Happy Holidays and New Year from Half Beat Mishap

DSCN0182Greetings! We’d like to thank everyone who has come out to the shows in the past two months. Both our gigs at The Tranzac and The Central have been a lot of fun; it was great to make new friends and play some music for all of you. We’d also like to acknowledge Paul Metcalfe for filling in for Karen at the Central gig, he did a stellar job and was a lot of fun to play with.

We have one gig scheduled so far in the new year, at the Tranzac on February 23rd, but there will be more. We will also have a few new demo recordings that we cut recently up on our myspace page in a few days. We wish you a happy holiday and new year and look forward to playing for you all in 2010. Cheers! – Half Beat Mishap

Show Announcement

Hey Everyone,

We’ll be returning to The Central on December the 14th with Barbarella and Lowell Whitty. It will be a great way to party with all your friends before the Christmas madness erupts. After this we will be plotting a way to make 2010 the year of Half Beat Mishap with more out of town shows and hopefully a full length recording. But until then make sure to come out and support local talent and this wonderful venue!

We’d also like to that Nick Teehan And The Skin Graft Orchestra and The Heavy Set Quartet for joining us and playing killer sets. If you would like to hear some tunes from the night go to our Myspace Page and check out “The Blue Night Bus” and “P.P.O.S.” Our next show will be at the Tranzac in November and we hope to see you there.
